The 18.9 MW Cassia Gulch wind park, about four miles west of Idaho Power’s lower Malad substation, is already in operation. A new 16.8 MW project, Tuana Springs, will be built adjacent to Cassia Gulch and expects to be in operation by June 30, 2010.

When Tuana Springs becomes operable, the existing sales agreement with Cassia Gulch will terminate and be replaced with a new agreement that includes a blended rate for both the Cassia Gulch and Tuana Springs projects.

The commission is taking comments through September 23, 2009 on the proposed sales agreement.
