These units are expected to be mounted on barges for mobile power plants and are planned to be used in different locations.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) said that with the rapidly increasing need of power plants on fast track basis, independent developers are seeking facilities that require short gestation and offer mobility.

This contract is the company’s third contract in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and comes close on the heels of a similar order for two gas turbine generating units of 42MW each from the same customer.

With this new contract from International Energy Resources (IER), BHEL has been able to secure orders for six gas turbine generating units from the UAE with a cumulative value of INR4.5 billion in a span of 11 months.
