International Fuel Technology (IFT) has claimed that research and development efforts in conjunction with BfB Laboratories in Belgium and subsequent testing have demonstrated that DiesoLift BD-3 is the top performing fuel additive technology for addressing oxidation stability and deposit formation in biodiesel fuel blends.

IFT has noted that the industry standard EN 14112 Rancimat oxidation test was utilized, though at an increased temperature. The reason IFT ran the test at the high temperature was to match the temperature of the likely new European Rancimat specification for biodiesel blends, to be released later in 2008.

Additional EN 14112 Rancimat oxidation testing with unstable B100 biodiesel reportedly further demonstrated the advantages of DiesoLift BD-3 over butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). BHT is the industry’s basic additive technology used to address oxidation stability.
