The 30,000sq ft array in Costa Mesa consists of a 248kW system, built with nearly 1,078 panels.
IKEA contracted with Gloria Solar for the development, design and installation of the customized solar power system.
IKEA Costa Mesa’s program will produce about 353,800kWh of clean electricity annually, the equivalent of reducing 280 tons of carbon dioxide.
IKEA said the investment by the company to buy its own solar photovoltaic energy system and to install and operate it atop the Costa Mesa store will lower the carbon intensity of the electrical grid.
