Imdaad reaffirmed its position in the industry in 2008 by ensuring professional and technical excellence in operation in key areas of waste management, including collection, transfer and disposal. In addition to the recyclables, 1586 tonnes of green wastes was collected and delivered to composting facility.

The waste management operations in 2008 also included the disposal of 312, 210 tonnes of general wastes to landfills. The recovery of recyclables and green garden waste resulted in 13% waste diversion from landfill.

Aiming to make a positive difference to the environment in every aspect of its business, the company has announced more investment in the expansion of its service fleet to include more compactors and other vehicles. This will enable it to provide waste collection and disposal services on a bigger scale.

Presently Imdaad has a fleet of 129 Roll-on Roll-offs, including tipper truck, skip loader, dump truck, tipper truck with crane, double cabin pick up, sand sweeping machine, beach cleaner, bus, tanker and compactors. More compactors will enable the collection of larger quantity of wastes generated at major commercial establishments and residential communities. It will also prevent waste overflow and pest infestation.
