UK Minister for Department of Energy and Climate Change Baroness Verma said, "The launch of Indo-UK Green Energy Forum would enhance and accelerate Indo-UK activities in clean energy and it will also help in introducing long-term and sustainable commercial collaboration in clean energy and especially with a reference to power and energy sector."

According to Verma, energy conservation and efficiency are both energy reduction techniques and it is important for governments and industry to collaborate and work together to build on common goals in energy efficiency.

"We all share common difficulties around energy and globally we recognize that it is the concern of every economy.

"A range of policy instruments have been put in place in the UK to help industry and consumers build on energy efficiency measures which have yielded results." she said.

"In addition, the industrial sector which accounts for a quarter of the emissions of the country has witnessed a decline in energy intensity by 54%. The prime goal is to try and stop the wastage of energy." Verma concluded.
