The coal blocks – Kerandari, Chatti Bariatu and Chatti Bariatu (south) are located in the state of Jharkhand and were de-allocated by the coal ministry in June 2011.
NTPC confirmed the developments to The Economic Times, saying the company was notified of the changes.
The Coal Ministry, in a letter to NTPC chairman and managing director Arup Choudhury, said that the withdrawal is subject to the company developing the block according to the revised schedule.
"It may, however, be stated that all other conditions as mentioned in the allocation letters of the above coal blocks would remain unchanged," the letter stated.
