The state government commissioned a survey in the region to ascertain the possibility of developing solar energy and has received an encouraging feedback.

Subsequent to the survey the government will look to unveil a solar energy promotion policy that will provide for the framework under which solar energy can be generated in the state.

Exemptions from registration and entry tax on the installation of solar energy plant on wasteland are expected to be some of the sweeteners for power developers, reported The Hindu Business Line.

Bihar Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav told Press Trust of India that the government has received proposals for the generation of 250MW energy through various solar projects.
