The projects to be sold are part of its pipeline of 10GW of solar projects which are in various stages of development for the calendar year 2017.

According to the company, the projects presently for sale are between the scales of 20MW to 80MW.

Innovative Solar Systems CEO John noted that ease in building solar sites, lower installation costs, better power purchase agreements and the company’s ability to complete projects on time have been setting its projects apart from the competition.

The company claims that investors including pension funds around the world are in talks with the company for strategic merger or equity purchase of its solar farms in the US.

It also said that a company, which purchased about twenty large scale projects from Innovative Solar, has recently been acquired by a major company in solar industry for close to $1bn.

Innovative Solar said: "That Merger or buy out was purely dictated by the fact that one company needed the skills and talents of the other to grow faster and get larger in the Solar Farm market place faster."

The company had recently secured power purchase agreements (PPA) for 25 years for about 720MW solar farms in the Mid-West region, noted PV-Tech.

It is presently in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) negotiations to build turn-key solar farms with an average cost of about $1/watt.
