As per the order, Inox will supply 50 units of its 2MW turbines with 120m hub height and with a rotor diameter of 113m. The order was won under the round 1 of SECI bids for wind power projects connected to the central grid.

The project is expected to start in the next six to nine months of time and will be executed on a turnkey basis, stated Inox. The company claims that the turbines that it will be supplying for the wind farm will have a 113m rotor diameter.

As part of the order, Inox will be responsible for the development, construction and commissioning of the wind farm and will also provide long term operations and maintenances services.

Adani Green Energy CEO Jayant Parimal said: “This order positions Adani Green Energy as the leader in India’s wind energy sector in the auction regime. Due to the ongoing shift in the wind power sector, we are at a juncture where clean energy resources will define our future.

“With the aspiration to ‘Thinking Big, Doing Better’, Adani Green Energy has a wellarticulated growth plan to increase its renewable power capacity to 10,000 MW by 2021 and contribute to the country’s growth and progress. Inox Wind has been our partner of choice and we are delighted to be working with them again.”

Inox Wind CEO Kailash Tarachandani said: “We are delighted with signing the deal for 100MW of SECI-1 order with India’s leading IPP, Adani Green Energy, at the Kutch wind farm in Gujarat.

“We believe that Inox Wind would be a major beneficiary in the auction based market regime, due to its inherent cost-competitive advantage and the upcoming SECI & State auctions will begin a new phase of robust growth for the wind industry critical for reaching the 60 GW wind power capacity goal by 2022 for the country.”
