The news source quoted Australia’s minister for resources and energy, Martin Ferguson, as saying that the Ichthys field’s reserves stand at 12.8 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas and 527 million barrels of condensate.

Inpex, which holds a 76% stake in the project, has earlier estimated Ichthys’s proven and probable reserves at 9.5tcf of recoverable gas and 312 million barrels of condensate.

Initial liquefied natural gas output from the Ichthys project is pegged at more than eight million tonnes per annum, in addition to 1.6 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas and 100,000 barrels of condensate, according to Reuters.
