The company said that the Cushing facility is a hub for crude oil storage and pipeline distribution in North America.
Cushing stores around 15% of the US’s crude oil supply, approximately 58 million barrels, and is the main intersection for ten major crude oil and additional refined products pipelines, according to the company.
Testing, inspection and calibration technical services are provided to oil and gas customers at the Intertek Cushing laboratory.
Intertek Commodities vice president for Inland Waterways Jeff Kaylor said that the establishment of an Intertek Cushing laboratory is an important expansion of its services to the petroleum industry in the US.
