The Corriegarth Wind Energy Center is located Scotland about 31km southwest of Inverness.
The wind farm came to its financial close back in 2015 and it was commissioned this April 2017. It features 23 of Enercon E82 wind turbine generators.
It has received the accreditation for Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) last September. Presently, it is party to a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with a major utility in the UK.
Invenergy president and chief operating officer Jim Murphy said: “Corriegarth is our second operating wind farm in Scotland and is situated in an area with great wind resources.
“We are proud of our development and construction of this project and pleased to transfer ownership to Greencoat, a company with a reputation of investing in successful renewable projects.”
Recently, Invenergy and WPPI Energy announced their plans for the construction of the 132MW Bishop Hill III Wind Energy Center in Henry County, in the US state of Illinois.
The wind farm is expected to start operations by mid-2018 and it can create about150 jobs during the construction phase and six full time jobs, when operational.
In July, American Electric Power (AEP) and Invenergy announced a 2GW Wind Catcher project in Oklahoma. GE was selected to supply wind turbines for the project, which could have at least 800 of 2.5MW turbines. The project is expected to generate enough green electricity to be supplied to more than one million US households.
