Nowzari added that the Iran-Alborz drilling rig is a drilling operation in the Caspian Sea. Iran-Alborz is advanced semi-floating drilling rigs and is constructed by Iran Marine Industrial Co (SADRA).

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) spent around $400 million in semisubmersible rigs that can operate at water depths of up to 1,030 meters and explore down to 1,000 meters under the seabed.

About the Aqajari project, Nowzari said that a 500-kilometer pipeline as been constructed for transferring produced gas from South Pars gas fields to Aqajari oil fields.

Aqajari oil field holds about 10 billion barrels of oil, which after gas injection is projected to produce an additional 2.1bn barrels in a 25-year timeframe, Nowzari said.
