The two companies have executed a non-exclusive agreement and plan to deliver a range of smart metering and smart grid benefits to utilities and end customers.
Itron Energy Group Latin America general manager Gadner Vieira said the company intends to provide a variety of technology choices to address customers’ unique business requirements.
"Our agreement with PrimeStone clearly brings more options to the marketplace," Vieira added.
"This alliance presents an excellent opportunity for both companies to accelerate the adoption of smart metering to help utilities manage energy distribution and serve their customers."
The two companies will offer Itron’s smart grid solution and PrimeStone’s PrimeRead Energy Suite for residential, commercial and industrial meters.
