The Barwon Water, City West Water, South East Water and Yarra Valley Water will utilize Itron’s solution to manage supply, optimize usage and conserve water resources.
Itron residential and C&I meters equipped with communication modules will be installed at the four utilities over the next three years, the company said.
The latest move follows a three-year contract that the company had completed with these utilities to deliver water meters and the associated AMR system.
City West Water metering services coordinator Andrew Geary said Itron and Melbourne Combined Utilities have a longstanding relationship.
"As a trusted partner, Itron continues to help us create a more intelligent water network in Victoria," Geary added.
"With Itron’s improved meter accuracy and advanced metering communication, we can address our need for improved metering accuracy and efficient collection of accurate meter data."
