These diodes set new standards for enhanced efficiency in the Power Systems, to decrease the energy losses in power conversion applications.

The new HiPerFRED2 diode family is ideally suited for the power applications with high switching frequencies (20-200 kHz) and particularly in boost and free wheeling configurations like Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuits and the Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). All of these will benefit from the optimized characteristics of small reverse recovery current (IRR) and the small stored charge (QRR), and also a soft recovery. The results are decreased energy losses for diode and also for switching transistor in the power circuit. An added benefit of soft recovery of these diodes in turn off, is decreased EMI noise they generate in the switching and the elimination of need to add costly snubber circuitry for switching transistors.

The new HiPerFRED2 family has a Vrrm rating from 200 V to 400 V with different current values from 10A up to 60A. Over 40 products are available in a variety of configurations and packages incorporating the isolated ISOPLUSTM-packages of the company. Some part type examples are DPG10I200PA (10A, 200V); DPG30C300PB (2x 15A, 300V); DPG60I400HA (60A, 400V); DPG120C300QB (2x 60A, 300V) and DPH30IS600HI (30A, 600V (series connected)).

The new HiPerFRED2 rectifiers offer high efficiency and high power density at a lower cost.
