The West Bengal State Electricity Board (WSEB) in India, has signed a contract worth US$72M with a consortium led by Mitsui of Japan for the design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment which is intended for the 900MW Purulia power project. Other members of the consortium include the Toshiba Corpor- ation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and BHEL.
