The Rudong Energy Bureau gave consent, subject to certain conditions, to Jiangsu Mingyang Wind Power Technology, which is a subsidiary of China Ming Yang Wind Power.

Ming Yang chairman and chief executive officer Chuanwei Zhang said the approval marks an important milestone in the company’s offshore strategy in China.

"Ming Yang expects to continue to leverage the off-shore opportunity in China and deliver our innovative Super Compact Drive ("SCD") wind turbine generators as an effective solution for off-shore wind power projects in China and beyond," Zhang added.

China Ming Yang designs, manufactures, sells and services megawatt-class wind turbines.

The company works with Germany-based aerodyne Energiesysteme to co-develop wind turbines.

Ming Yang was a top 10 wind turbine manufacturer globally and the largest non-state owned producer in China last year in terms of the newly installed capacity.
