The nuclear reactor will be constructed within Jordan’s peaceful nuclear programme, Zawya.com reported.
JAEC has already received technical bids from three companies namely Russian Atomstroy Export, Canadian AECL and a consortium comprising French firm AREVA and Japanese firm Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
The cabinet will form a special committee to study the technical and financial bids and select the best technology in December this year.
The country is planning to secure alternative sources of energy as it uses 20% of its budget to import 97% of its energy needs.
