The restored unit having an installed capacity of 200 MW underwent 72 hours pre-commissioning tests.
This is the second unit which has been restored after it had been damaged by fire at the plant in September 2010.
The plant also underwent prolonged repair and recovery works on the main and auxiliary equipment and buildings.
Irganayskaya’s hydro-unit no. 1 commenced operation a month ago.
