The company intends to develop a 1,200MW coal-fired plant at Jaigarh, which would commence its operations by September 2010.

Sajjan Jindal, vice-chairman and managing director of JSW Group, said: “300MW of the plant will be commissioned in January followed by another 300MW in April.”

Sajjan Jindal continued that as per the schedule, the company would start 300MW each quarter up to September 2010.

The company, during the next five years, intends to install 11,000MW of capacity. The investment is estimated to be INR550 billion in different states.

The company is also constructing 3,200MW super critical thermal power facility with an estimated investment of INR150 billion at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

In the next two-months, the company, through an initial public offering (IPO), plans to raise approximately INR30 billion.
