The joint venture, operating under the Juhl Wind umbrella, has already undertaken discussions with potential owners of existing wind farms in the upper midwest region of the US.
Juhl also seeks to purchase smaller wind farm assets or partner with any projects requiring assistance.
Commenting on the developments Juhl Wind president John Mitola noted that the company is targeting projects that strongly align with its core capabilities in the market such as wind farms under 100MW.
8030 Companies president John Brown stated that Juhl’s experience in the wind and clean energy space positions the company to provide a significant value proposition to clean energy project owners facing post-warranty and second half operational challenges.
"For existing owners of wind farms and clean energy facilities under 100 MWs with an operating history of six or more years, partnering with Juhl provides the risk protection and financial certainty asset owners expect as their equipment moves into the second half of its projected useful life," Brown said.
