The J-58 well located on the new extension area which is to south of the discovered Akkar East oil accumulation, and is about 3.8km from the J-55 well.

Jupiter is expecting J-58 will have about 10 million barrels of potential resources.

Vertical well J-58 will be drilled to a planned total depth of 3,400m and is expected to intersect secondary Jurassic clastic reservoir target and primary mid-triassic carbonate reservoir target.

The drilling program is expected to take about 60 days of time for spudding to running production casing and temporarily suspending the well.

Jupiter Energy is expecting two to three weeks of time before it starts initial testing program on the well.

The J-58 is Jupiter’s first well to be spud after it received an extension of two years on Block 31 exploration license which will be valid until 31 December 2014.
