Layang field is located approximately 8 km east of the producing Helang Gas field in Block SK10, which is operated by JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration with a participating interest of 75%.

The company is scheduled to install floating production, storage and offloading system (FPSO) at Layang Field, as part of the field development program.

With commercial production scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2016, the flied has initial estimated incremental production of Helang/Layang gas to be about 100 MMscfd and Helang condensate/Layang oil/Layang condensate to be about 7kbd.

Natural Gas produced from Layang Field, along with natural gas from Helang Gas Field, will be supplied to the MLNG Tiga liquefaction plant, which is partly owned by JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation, through subsea pipelines of approximately 200km long.

After liquefaction, the natural gas will be sold as LNG while the condensate and Layang oil will be transferred from the FPSO.

JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration aims to increase and strengthen natural-gas-supply-chain by the production from multiple gas fields, Helang Gas field and Layang field.
