Contract signing

The companies which signed the contracts with Kahramaa include Elsewedy Cables, Gulfar Al Misnad, LS Cable, National Contracting Company, Prysmian Powerlink, Siemens AG & Siemens WLL consortium, ETA Star International, ABB, Taihan Electric Wire, Energoprojeck Entel, Larsen & Toubro, Mott MacDonald and Alstom.

Kahramaa also signed a contract with Qatar International Cable for the supply of cables.

The two-year call-off agreement is for stage two of the Phase 11 expansion and development programme of Qatar’s electricity network.

Kahramaa has also signed agreements with EDF and Alstom Grid for consultancy services for stage one of Phase 11.

The consultancy services for the second stage of the Phase 11 will be awarded later.

The contracts of the first stage will see the commissioning of 32 substations.

Work also includes laying of cables covering a distance of about 948.6km and the removal of nearly 43km of overhead lines in different parts of Doha and its neighbourhood.

The contracts in the second stage of Phase 11 will see the commissioning of 20 substations.

New cables totalling to a distance of 82.1km will be laid and 54.5km of overhead line will be dismantled.
