Yeddyurappa stated that the project is expected to be finished in four years.

He informed that the nirantara vidyut program would be executed by the government in phases. Under this program 24 hours power supply would be ensured to the villages.

To make sure that the people of Karnataka are not troubled with the improper power supply during summer, the government purchased power from the other available sources, he added.

He requested the Congress leaders who won the Lok Sabha polls from Bidar and Gulbarga constituencies, to increase pressure on the UPA Government to revise the Article 371 of the constitution to provide special economic status to the backward North Karnataka region.
