The new Kent Grand Plus features a new tapered body with a water level indicator, computer controlled filter change alarm, improved purification via additional micronic filter, spin welded membrane, advanced TDS controller valve an overall package of solution for all the drinking water problems. The new purifier system not only kills bacteria and viruses but also removes the dissolved impurities and maintains the essential minerals on a long service life to offer healthy water.

Mahesh Gupta, chairman of Kent RO, stated: “Producing a water purifier that provides a holistic solution to water problem is always a motive for Kent. Our R&D team has researched on some harmful contents that has been found in water at many areas which made us to develop a purifier system with advanced engineering and added features that are necessary seeing the drinking water quality. Kent Grand Plus provides double purification by RO followed by UV and a TDS controller to maintain minerals in water, also attached is a computer controller that enhances the control and purification by Mineral RO process at a great extent”

In 2006, the company struck the Killer Punch in the water Industry, by inventing and introducing the new Mineral RO Technology. This new technology is a generation ahead of the existing RO technology.

Although there are no independent data on size of this growing water purification industry, estimate point outs that the size of water purification industry is in the range of INR10 billion to INR20 billion, Where the company holds a market share for 30% in RO purifier segment. The company is embarking on a drive to double its capacity to 3,00,000 units annually the company have an existing capacity of 1, 50, 000 units per year. The company is setting up a new unit at Roorkee at an investment of INR150 million. The company already has two manufacturing facilities in Roorkee. The company is mulling over setting up another plant in the Greater Noida after the completion of the current unit in Roorkee.

Elaborating the company’s expansion plans Gupta added, “After making our leadership position in all the metro & A class cities our focus is now to go regional in a big way. currently we have a strong marketing network of 300 distributors and 1000 dealers which we intend to increase to over 200 distributors and 2000 dealers by next year. Seeing the rising demand of water purifiers in the market we target to sell approx 1,50,000 systems in this year.”

Gupta reassures the substantial reinvestment strategy in research and development facility to ensure purest and the healthiest drinking water at all times. The INR1000 million company plans to strike the INR2000 million mark by the end of 2010 through better quality products and the increase in distribution network.
