The scope of work also includes the installation of the interconnecting pipelines between the tank farm, loading facility and the Ras Laffan jetty. Kentz is responsible for process design, storage facilities, custody metering and loading facilities on a turnkey basis. The project is scheduled for completion in 2011. On completion the facility will be handed over to WOQOD (Qatar Fuel), which will operate and maintain the facility and service its domestic customer base.

The contract has been awarded to Kentz by Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas), which is a subsidiary of Qatar Petroleum.

Dr. Hugh O’Donnell, chief executive of Kentz, said: “The award of this EPC package reflects the confidence that this major client has in Kentz’s ability to deliver critical and complex projects. We have mobilized our project team and look forward to carrying out another successful project for Qatar Petroleum and its partners in Qatar.”
