Around INR12.4bn (€150m) will be provided by KfW for the electro-mechanical works of the 450MW Shongtong-Karcham hydroelectric project, Himvani reports.

In addition, KfW will also provide INR16.7bn (€201.5m) for the 191MW Thana-Plaun project, which is being developed on river Beas in the Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh.

ADB will arrange finance for the construction of 48MW Surgani-Sundla hydroelectric project, which is being constructed downstream of Baira-Siul project in the Chamba district.

The state of Himachal Pradesh, which has a hydro-power potential of around 23,000MW, has so far achieved only 7,800MW.
