The refinery upgrade is part of Lotos Asfalt ‘s effective refining (EFRA) project. It is planned to be completed in 2018.

The scope of work under the contract includes implementation of a delayed coking unit, a coker naphtha hydrotreating unit, a Kinetics Technology-licensed hydrogen production unit as well as ancillary units.

The contract also covers installation of technology for downloading and dewatering the produced coke.

Maire Tecnimont said that the technology is a breakthrough approach to the delayed coking environmental impact mitigation.

Grupa Lotos extracts and processes crude oil, and is engaged in wholesale and retail sale of refined petroleum products.
