The company has awarded contracts to provide engineering and design, land management and environmental services to Hatch Mott MacDonald, Contract Land Staff and Apex TITAN, respectively.

The pipeline is expected to cost about $300m. The pipeline will begin in Madison County and will run through south via Walker, Grimes, Montgomery and Harris counties.

The pipeline will have an initial capacity of 100,000bpd and can be expanded up to 200,000bpd.

It will serve Eaglebine/Woodbine crude oil producers through two origination stations located near North Zulch and Madisonville, and a third station near Roans Prairie.

Knight Warrior has appointed a team of experts led by Fred Brown, senior project manager, to manage construction of the pipeline.

The company expects the pipeline to start operations in the second-quarter of 2016.

Brown said: "When completed, the added capacity provided by the Knight Warrior pipeline will help the prolific Eaglebine/Woodbine region achieve its full potential by giving producers there direct access to the Gulf Coast refinery complex, as well as other US and foreign markets."

The project is supported by shipper commitments, including a transportation agreement with Vitol and SEI Energy.

Knight Warrior is a subsidiary of Blueknight Energy Partners.
