Under the extension, Kongsberg will deliver integrated engineering services required for the conceptual design and pre-FEED design of the in-field flowline systems and riser system.

The project will include the development of the Skrugard, Havis and Drivis oil fields in production licence 532, around 230km north-west of North Cape, with water depths ranging between 360m and 405m.

The contract continues the concept design work Kongsberg completed in June. The work is expected to be completed in June 2015.

Kongsberg will now undertake design optimizations and value engineering on alternative technical solutions while serving as the lead interface contractor for the project interfaces.

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies president Pål Helsing said: "This is an important breakthrough for Kongsberg in providing integrated pre-FEED engineering services on both flowlines and risers for a major development project.

"We are pleased to see that all the work performed by Kongsberg in the feasibility and conceptual phases of the project has been completed to Statoil’s satisfaction."

Statoil operates the production licence PL532 with a 50% stake, while Eni Norge and Petoro hold 30% and 20% interests respectively.
