The new oil refinery to be constructed at Al Zour, Kuwait is expected to be the largest in the Middle East and it would boost the country’s refinery capacity by 615,000 barrels per day.
KNPC is anticipating the refinery to produce cleaner fuels and meet its electrical power generation growth while complying with the environmental standards.
AMEC Group Growth Regions president Hisham Mahmoud said, "This contract award supports our Vision 2015 strategy, which includes growing our presence in the Middle East’s oil and gas upstream, midstream and downstream sectors."
The new oil refinery is expected to be completed in 2018.
