The company will construct Garrison Energy Center, which will be located in Dover, along with its joint venture partner Parsons Brinckerhoff under the contract awarded by Calpine Garrison.

Kvaerner NAC will lead the joint venture in performing the engineering, procurement and construction works, with a value to Kvaerner of about $100m to $120m.

The firm will construct the facility, while Parsons Brinckerhoff will take care of the design, procurement of the balance of station equipment and the commissioning.

Garrison Energy Center will employ highly efficient combined-cycle technology with advanced environmental controls. Construction for the project is likely to start in early 2013, while completion is scheduled in summer 2015.

Kvaerner president and chief executive Jan Arve Haugan said, "We are pleased to secure this project in the unionized areas of the United States and Canada where Kvaerner is well positioned to capitalize on these opportunities."
