The reconstruction consisted of two stages: replacing a 3km section of the aerial line from Vatutina Avenue to the Left Bank substation, and replacing the transit line equipment at the substation and at combined heat power plant No.6.

"The reconstruction will increase the line throughput capacity and, as a consequence, reliability of power supply of the left bank dwellers," the company said in a statement.

Kyivenergo has incurred a total cost of UAH60m ($) for renovating the power line, according tocospp.com. The reconstruction was in line with the firm’s investment program for 2011.

Kyivenergo has reported a loss of UAH1.375bn, net revenue growth of 30.75% or UAH2.597bn to UAH11.044bn for 2011 when compared with 2010.
