Labcon collaborated with US-based SunPower for the installation at the project, that began with upgrading the facility’s roof to support over 2,500 solar panels.
US Bancorp Equipment Finance has provided Labcon with financing for the solar power project, located in Sonoma County.
The array will contribute about 30% of Labcon’s energy needs, allowing the company to significantly reduce its carbon footprint.
This new solar project, valued at $3.3m, produces enough electricity to power 88 homes for a year and is the equivalent of removing 56 cars from the road.
Labcon is a manufacturer of Earth Friendly laboratory disposables.
