The company has secured a contract to deliver 250,000 smart meters to Spanish utility, Iberdrola.
The two companies will jointly develop smart metering and smart grid solutions targeted for commercial launch in the UK from mid 2012 onwards.
The partners will focus to support UK’s roll-out through the joint development of a universal communications hub to optimise the deployment of hundreds of millions of smart meters.
Currently, Landis+Gyr is working with British Gas on the UK’s first major deployment of smart meters, reports peterboroughtoday.com.
