The survey had generated a drill target for copper-gold mineralisation within a body modelled by Val D’or Geofisica SAC in excess of 2000 metres x 800 metres.
Latin already received permit for drilling and expects to begin diamond drilling this month.
Most importantly, the target zone is directly east of the disseminated copper-gold bearing magnetite-pyrite mineralisation intersected by the drilling testing reported in August 2011. Latin had then found mineralisation of iron and copper in eight of its initial exploration holes at the Ilo Norte project, which were drilled along 1.25km of strike and 400 metres width.
The anomalous geophysical responses from the latest survey coincide with the quaternary covered, down dip extension of a strata-bound Skarn unit that outcrops to the west of the survey area and an overlying zone of intense Silica-Albite alteration, both of which indicate potential copper-gold mineralisation.
Latin managing director Chris Gale said, "These results have added enormous weight to our conceptual model for copper-gold mineralisation at Ilo Norte."
"We now have a fantastic drill target which we will begin testing almost immediately having now received drill permit approval," he added.
The Ilo Norte Project is located in the western portion of a contiguous block of 21,000 hectares of mining concessions within Latin’s more than 100,000 hectares of 100% owned mining concessions in the Southern Coastal IOCG belt around Ilo.
