Difference Capital Funding was the lead investor, picking up 12.5% of the issued and outstanding common shares by investing CAD$2.46m ($1.001m).

LEC in turn picked up 275m ordinary shares of Australian Renewable Fuels from Wasabi Energy for a total price of CAD$4,265,770 ($4.3m).

Lignol Energy CEO Ross MacLachlan termed the transactions as a statement of support from its new investors.

"We are now better positioned to leverage new government funding to support our technical work plans and the diversification of the asset base of the Company, represented by the investment in ARW, is in keeping with our philosophy of obtaining equity interests in related renewable energy projects," said MacLachlan.
