Under the contract, Linde’s Engineering division will construct several plants to generate and purify gases in the city.

The company will supply four large air separation units (ASUs) to generate gaseous oxygen at the plants, which is needed by the India-based conglomerate, Reliance, for its proposed petroleum coke and coal gasification facilities.

As part of the deal, Linde will also supply two RECTISOL acid gas removal units to treat the syntehsised gas generated during the gasification process.

In addition, the company will supply the license, process design, detail engineering and procurement services for the project.

The company will also build two additional ASUs to supply purified oxygen to Reliance’s ethylene glycol facilities in Jamnagar.

Linde Group executive board member Aldo Belloni said around 20 years ago the company had supplied large-scale hydrogen plants for Reliance in Jamnagar.

"Now we are committed to contribute to the expansion of one of the world’s key refinery and petrochemical hubs with our air separation and acid gas removal know-how," Belloni added.
