An oil-bearing zone and a separate gas-bearing zone were encountered when Son of Bluto 2 (Mississippi Canyon 431) was drilled to a total depth of 18,500′.

In addition, two oil-bearing zones were encountered when Marmalard (Mississippi Canyon 300) was drilled to a total depth of 18,100′.

The former well was suspended pending completion in the first quarter, while the latter well for second quarter.

The firm said a development plan for the discoveries is actively being worked by the partnership.

These two wells are LLOG Exploration’s first two exploration wells since the Gulf of Mexico 2010 drilling moratorium.

US-based LLOG Exploration is a privately owned and operated oil and gas firm with offices in Lafayette, Louisiana and Houston, Texas.
