Under the production licence 498 that was awarded in 2008, the area of the production is located in the southern part of the North Sea, includes parts of blocks 7/7, 7/8, 7/11 and 7/12 and the wildcat well 7/8-6 S.
The well will be drilled from the Mærsk Guardian drilling facility at position 57°17’55.17”N and 2°27’19.16"E, the company said.
With an ownership of 25% interest, Lotos Exploration and Production is the operator, while the other partners Edison International Norway Branch holds 25%, Skagen 44 holds 25% and 4Sea Energy holds 25% stake, respectively in the project.
Commencment of drilling activities is subject to receiving all other permits and consents required by the operator from other authorities.
