The well is located in PL700, on the northern part of the Frøya High in the Norwegian Sea approximately 17 km northeast of VNG Norge-operated Pil and Bue discoveries in the Halten Terrace.

The well 6407/10-4 is scheduled to be drilled to a total depth is approximately 3,104m below mean sea level using semi-submersible drilling unit Island Innovator.

Lundin expects the Lorry prospect to hold gross prospective resources of 151 million barrels of oil equivalents (MMboe) while the reservoir includes Upper Jurassic sandstone.

The drilling operation are planned to be completed in approximately 60 days.

Lundin Norway operates the PL700 with 40% stake while other partners include Bayerngas Norge, GDF SUEZ E&P Norge and VNG Norge with 20% interest each.

Separately, Lundin Norway secured drilling permit from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for well 7130/4-1 in production license 708 (PL708).

Following completion of drilling of wildcat well 6406/12-5 S in production license 586 for VNG Norge, the Well 7130/4-1 will be drilled about 85km north of Berlevåg in Finnmark, from the Transocean Arctic drilling facility.

Lundin Norway also operates the PL708 with 40% stake while other licensees include Lukoil Overseas North Shelf with 20% stake, Edison Norge 20%, Lime Petroleum Norway 10% and Pure E&P Norway 10.

The license area comprises block 7130/7 and the southern half of block 7130/4.
