The well be drilled targeting the Clapton prospect, located 10km north of the Valhall Field, offshore Norway, for a planned total depth of 2,718m below mean sea level.

Drilling will determine the hydrocarbon potential in the Ekofisk, Tor and Hod formations while Lundin Petroleum expects that the Clapton prospect holds a total prospective resources of 65 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe).

Drilling programme is scheduled for nearly 60 days, using the jackup drilling rig Maersk Guardian.

Lundin Petroleum has 18% stake in PL440S, with the operator Faroe Petroleum at 40%, and others include Dana with 20% and Noreco and Det norske at 12% and 10%, respectively.
