The proposed acquisition comprises three claim blocks covering an area of 6,687ha, all located in the Athabasca Basin, and is subject to regulatory approval.

Makena Resources president Negar Adam said that the deal is a significant acquisition, and would position the company in the heart of the most exciting uranium district in the world today.

"We plan to initiate a work program as soon as we receive regulatory approval for this acquisition," Adam added.

Among the three blocks that are to be acquired is the west block that directly borders the recent discovery at the Patterson Lake South Prospect of Alpha Minerals and Fission Energy, while the other two blocks are in the direct vicinity of the discovery.
