Mantra’s ERC process is a form of carbon capture and recycling that intends to capture CO2 from industrial activities and convert it to valuable chemicals and other useful byproducts.

Patent No 251493 was awarded by India’s Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks and it covers Mantra’s electrochemical process for reducing carbon dioxide to formate salts or formic acid.

The company will work on further development, testing and eventual licensing and commercialization of its ERC process.

Mantra is also currently seeking patents in Australia, China, Japan, Europe, Canada and the US.
