The SeaGen tidal energy system was originally set to be installed by the end of August, but the installation is to be postponed because the jack-up installation vessel, Jumping Jack, had been required to extend its period of work on another contract for a third party and is also in need of repair work.

Marine Current Turbines still aims to install SeaGen in Strangford Lough before the end of 2007 and is in discussions with A2Sea, the owner and operator of Jumping Jack, to agree a new date.
