The company is drilling the well to a total depth of approximately 1,200 meters, targeting Jurassic reservoirs.

Max Petroleum has also reported that the ZMA-A19 development well in the Zhana Makat field has reached a total depth of 948 meters, with electric logs indicating 28 meters of net oil pay.

The pays include five metres in the Cretaceous Neocomian reservoir at depths from 648 meters to 654 meters and 23 meters in the Jurassic JI and JII reservoirs at depths from 772 meters to 832 meters.

According to the company, reservoir quality appears excellent with porosities ranging from 20% to 34%, and Max Petroleum has run production casing in the well.
