M2 will be located adjacent to the existing 150MW HR Milner Generating Station (M1), and will utilize supercritical, pulverized coal technology.

Construction of M2 is expected to begin in 2012, subject to satisfactory commercial and financing arrangements.

The facility will be fully commissioned approximately three years after the start of construction, Maxim Power said.

Canada-based Maxim Power currently owns and operates 44 power plants in western Canada, US and France, having 809MW of electric and 117MW of thermal net generating capacity.
